MESA POSTA é um filme que vive da violência de uma vida, que é mostrada na simplicidade dos gestos de quem a interpreta. Os hábitos, as crenças e os momentos são contados no ato de pôr a mesa, aí a brutalidade da vida é confrontada com a beleza e a graça dos objetos que a compõe: a mesa é posta conforme a vida é contada.

MESA POSTA is a film that lives off the violence of a life, which is shown in the simplicity of the gestures of the person who plays it. The habits, beliefs and moments of this story are told in the act of setting the table, then the brutality of life is confronted by the beauty and the grace of the objects that make it: the table is set as life is told.

MESA POSTA é uma história real, de violência, que existia antes do filme ser pensado e que continua a existir depois dele - existe sem lhe chegar. Isto interessa-nos porque fomos obrigados a trabalhar no cru da realidade - pouco podemos fazer para mudar diretamente a vida que mostramos. Contudo, criar o filme foi permitir que a causa que lhe é inerente pudesse ter voz. Dar voz a quem não a tem foi o que nos moveu - que a mesa seja posta, mas que a voz possa ser ouvida.
