UM BOM PAR DE OVÁRIOS é uma instalação multidisciplinar, criada no âmbito do projeto final de licenciatura da artista Beatriz de Sousa. É site-specific e desenhada para se enquadrar no espaço, mas sempre com a intenção de utiliza-lo enquanto associação à ideia de labirinto mental e confusão espacial. O espaço existe empoeirado, sujo, com pouco ou nenhuma luz, recriando uma mise-en-scene idêntica à da mente da artista, nomeadamente na época das situações que esta vai trabalhar. A instalação tem cerca de 10 núcleos.

O título Um Bom Par de Ovários foi criado enquanto ressignificação da expressão Um Bom Par de Tomates, amplamente difundida na gíria portuguesa. A expressão tradicional simboliza a força associada aos testículos, ou seja, ao homem: mesmo quando se fala de uma mulher forte utiliza-se esta expressão, muito embora a mulher não tenha este orgão sexual. O objetivo deste título foi devolver a força da mulher ao lugar dela.

A primeira edição da instalação aconteceu na Covilhã, de 6 a 9 de junho de 2022, num espaço inutilizado da faculdade de artes e letras, da Universidade da Beira Interior. A instalação ocupou dois pisos e cerca de 10 salas/espaços, sabendo que em cada um se encontrava um núcleo específico.

A segunda edição da instalação aconteceu de 10 a 11 de junho de 2022, numa única sala de um prédio, inserido no Caldas Late Night, nas Caldas da Rainha. O espaço era significativamente mais reduzido, tendo sido por isso apresentados apenas alguns núcleos.

A GOOD PAIR OF OVARIES is an installation created as part of the final degree project by the artist Beatriz de Sousa. It is a site-specific installation designed with the intention of using the space as an association with the idea of a mental labyrinth and spatial confusion. The space is dusty, dirty, with little or no light, recreating a mise-en-scene identical to that of the artist's mind, namely at the time of the situations she will work on. The installation has about 10 nucleus.

The title A Good Pair of Ovaries was created as a resignification of the expression A Good Pair of Balls (portuguese expression), widely spread in Portuguese slang. The traditional expression symbolizes the strength associated with the testicles, that is, with the man: even when talking about a strong woman, this expression is used, even though the woman does not have this sexual organ. The purpose of this title was to return the woman's strength to her place.

The first edition of the installation took place in Covilhã, from June 6 to 9, 2022, in an unused space of the Faculty of Arts and Letters, of the University of Beira Interior. The installation occupied two floors and about 10 rooms/spaces, knowing that each one had a specific nucleus.

The second edition of the installation took place from June 10 to 11, 2022, in a single room in a building, located at Caldas Late Night, in Caldas da Rainha. Space was significantly smaller, so only a few cores were presented.

Para além da questão artística, interessa à autora criar espaços para o debate das temáticas abordadas na instalação, tendo por isso feito a sua primeira conversa/debate na primeira edição do projeto, em colaboração com a Associação CISMA.

In addition to the artistic issue, the author is interested in creating spaces for the debate of the themes addressed in the installation, having therefore held her first conversation/debate in the first edition of the project, in collaboration with the CISMA Association.
